Quite interesting and odd. When opened it had a strong aroma and flavor of dried currants. After 15 minutes in the glass (and onward) tobacco and charred oak flavors combined into a distinctive stale cigarette note. Good structure - nice mouthfeel and body - but for me the flavor is just off-putting.

Lovely color and perfumed nose. Not thin the way some Pinots can be; muscular with strawberry, smoke, pepper and a bit of tapenade/olive and dankness and fruitcake

The prior note is on target. Ripe strawberries and a massive dose of whole cluster spice, herbs and earth. Very open aromatically, open-knit and flavorful palate, though the structure is simultaneously tightly wound. Savory, spicey finish with subtle tannic grip. Little if any oak imprint, a real plus since there's nothing competing with the fruit.
This could use at least few years to unwind and integrate, but the raw intensity and complexity is very compelling at the moment. The choice of minimal oak makes this a wine that can probably be enjoyed equally well for different reasons during its development arc.

“Intensely candied Bing cherry aromas meet with strong herbal influence, from bay leaf to green peppercorns, on the nose of this fruity spice bomb. The palate explodes with flavors of raspberry and ripe cherry, as eucalyptus-tea tones linger deep into the finish.” — WE, 1/2020. I didn’t get that much candied cherry, but the rest I’ll generally agree with. Very nice now, but it really needs another year in the bottle for flavors to fully mesh. Then it should be fantastic. My favorite of the tasting (at their tasting room in Santa Barbara) vs Estate and Anna’s.

Very good. A little smoky which is common from Pinots n this area. But still good fruit and dry. Enjoyed very much
