Robe cuivrée. Nez pas très expressif. Un peu décevant. Il est (juste) plaisant mais manque de personnalité. C’est la 2ème fois que je le déguste (avec qq années d’écart) mais avec la même conclusion. Il est rapidement oublié.

Late night at Maison Dakota. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, reddish-pink colour. Thin legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of oxidative nuttiness, dried strawberries, dried red cherries, vinous pinosity, red florals. Developed. On the palate, dry (but quite obviously way higher than zero dosage), lovely high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet caramel, oxidative nuttiness, deep strawberries, sweet red cherries, vinous pinosity, underlying minerality. Long finish. Very very good quality. Wow drinking in such a good place already. Enjoy!

Wow. Last bottle of 6 (drank over 8 years) and the best of the lot. A very vinous champagne. By no means was it dry, but it wasn’t heavy or cloying at all. Good fruit, very decent acid and a refined mouthfeel. Did I say wow?

Charleston VI; 11/3/2021-11/7/2021 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): In an afternoon of 30-40 year old wines a 22 year old is a youngster and can come across as such. First impression was just young but followed it over a couple of hours and as it opened it was flower petals and strawberries and quite enjoyable. A versatile wine and very enjoyable. Glad to see we have a bunch of these.
