SLDS New Year #2: Ginger, apple, licorice and orange on the nose. Palate has a little ox twinge to start but the fruit richness and ripeness washes over the top of it. Show better with air, with the components settling in and showing some drive. Still liked it, but right on the edge of tipping the other way.

Perhaps a whiff of cork - but quickly dissipated into a rich wine with notes of toasted hazelnuts, a long nose, and well balanced oak. Great richness and acidity.

Sadly some mild cork taint detracts from what is a very good wine. It is loaded with powerful, sappy orchard fruits. There’s serious volume and length.

Big Burgundian nose of sweet creamy oak and roasted nuts. A touch new world on the palate. Full, very slightly sweetish, rich in style. Lacks just a bit of acidity.

first class - as a Charlie should be . Quite a light colour . Decanted for about an hour giving a wonderful richness , vibrant fruit with a touch of minerality . Pity - only 2 bottles left :(
