Light amber. Noticeably deeper than the 2019 I tasted alongside this year. Rich floral notes and stones fruits. Minerality evolved to wet stones with a touch of flint. Ginger, faint nutty notes. Maybe marzipan? Petrol note. Bright acid. Had it with lobster with a carrot purée. Might have overwhelmed the lobster just a bit. But I bet this would be delicious with a big blue cheese…

Jim & Michelene's 40th Anniversary Dinner (Jim and Michelene's Place, St. Paul, MN): Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 75 minutes. This was pretty cold out of the gate and took some warming to get it to come out, though even then it seemed a bit shy. Savory, mushroom, pear, earthy and damp, honeycomb, decent acidity, river stones. Showing appropriate maturity.

Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Medium expressive very ripe yellow fruit driven nose, peach, apricot, a hint of lemon curd, roasted nuts, honey, sweet spice and medium mineral. Excellent concentration, rich and ripe, a bit heavy, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium long ripe yellow fruit driven finish.

A creamy texture, the warm vintage shines through; citrus is pronounced, it is quite lively, hints of vanilla from the oak, but the balance is fine #SøllerødKro
