  • 1st of 2 bottles, last tasted in the tasting room in SC Mtns, about 3 yrs prior.
Came across with a bit of reduction and burnt wood upon opening, but this blew off over an hour or so of air, showing a pretty, refined PN with nicely restrained red fruits, alongside wet forest floor, autumn leaves, cinnamon, and a hint of black pepper. Tannins are finely grained, not clunky, with supporting acidity, and a fairly captivating, red-fruited finish.
Drink now through 2025 or so.

  • Tasting room pour on top of Santa Cruz Mtns.
Bright and lively on the nose, showing off cola, tart red cherries, cinnamon, and forest floor aromas.
The palate was clean, bright, with nice complexity and great balance, showing bright red cherry fruit alongside tobacco leaf, wet soil, cherry pit.
This wine was surprisingly delicious and showed one of the more elegant Pinot representations I have tasted from Calif in a long time.
    Kudos. Drink now through 2025+.
