Community Tasting Notes (14) Avg Score: 91.0 points

  • Deep ruby colored with minor staining and a high viscosity (14.5% ABV). The nose has medium (+) intensity aromas of cassis, tobacco, cedar, black plum, camphor, mint, black coffee and iodine. The palate is dry with medium acidity, a full body and medium (+) tannins that are chalky and crunchy. Flavors of ripe blackcurrant, black plum, tobacco, cedar, coffee and that sanguine iodine note caress the tongue and carry on to a longish finish. I like the tannic structure- it's grippy yet lets the fruit do its job. I like the flavor profile, it's a classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Lovely stuff that gets 92 points from me and for $34- 5 stars. It's open for business now if you like 'em a bit dry and astringent, or you could wait. This beauty will last till 2035. I'm charring up some Sirloins with a pepper sauce.

  • Notes of blackberry and vanilla. The acidity currently is high with a sharp character, which requires time to calm down as expected. Tannins are high with a fine-grit sandpaper character. Overall, this wine has great potential.

  • Off restaurant list. Good material here, fruit, tannins, acidity all in balance. Way too young though. Tannins need time. Best after 2030.

  • Dark red. Outstanding CS nose, blackberry, cassis, old furniture and a bit of bonfire. Very textured mouthfeel, again black fruit, and cassis. A balanced tannic finish.

Very good structure and weight but not at all over extracted or ripe. A serious wine. Lots of Bordeaux terroir in this one.

  • Pnp late a night. Fairly ripe dark fruit are showing a bit the warm vintage. Rich and juicy but could do with a bit more freshness in my eyes.
