  • Decanted and poured. Great nose - deep, velvety and luxurious - plummy w dark cherry. Tobacco and some pencil lead. Very fine and refined nose. A touch of marzipan. Palate is drying a little with lots of tobacco and a little tart and some plummy fruit. Finish is drying out too but still excellent. Tart. With hours in the glass this got sweeter and smoother.

Another pour: Pretty strawberry cherry and plummy fruit, herbal tobacco. A bit of cedar. Palate is sweet red fruited with nice tobacco. Good acid.

New pour open hours in bottle - pretty red and dark fruit strawberry and black cherry and black Currant. Along with tobacco and herbs - palate is excellent. Good grip. Good Acid. Sweet fruit and nice herbal notes. Fine mostly resolved tannins. Very well integrated and drinking well. Finish is herbal and a bIt tart and dry but still very elegant and refined. Punching way above its weight and a superb showing for this modest Chateau. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 4.5-5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5-17.5/20.

  • Supps with the girls (E & M's in the rocks, Sydney): holding up exceptionally well for a 36 y/o, blackcurrant, plum, a little blueberry, tertiary notes but still fresh...tannins relative resolution is the only real clue to that age.

  • Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. leather, earth, mushroom, a little sour plum, brambles, Autumn leaves, sweet spice, biscuit, a little raspberry lozenge. the raspberry lozenge note translates to the palate with leathery tannic burr, other notes from the nose support on the long finish. Lovely

  • Bottle was HF, cork in perfect condition. Deep color, with some amber at the rim. Pepper, forest floor, mushrooms, spices, plum, cassis. The palate is balanced, with silky tannins and mineral acidity. Wine is in good drinking window, but no hurry.

  • Drinking very well now. Tannins fully integrated and silky. Evolved, but not too much. Don't see any benefit in waiting. Would drink now.
