  • Ripe fruit, peach, apricot, and lots of fruit on the nose. It's quite intense, but not over the top. The palate has good acidity with more peach and apricots, as well as some minerals and tarter notes of citrus. Long finish. Stark contrast to the 2017 Clemens Busch Fahrlay GG -- much bigger wine and clearly showing the warm vintage. However, it's quite nice in its own way and feels like it could improve with 5+ years in bottle. 93+

  • Riesling theme (Famous Treasure): An absolute blockbuster of a wine. Dry Riesling normally screams acid but this was all about power. Impressive weight together with an unctuous texture, still shy with yellow fruits of pear. I’ve never had a Montrachet before but this is what I imagine it to be like, top class wines are always so distinctive. Didn’t betray any heat of the vintage. One of the best Rieslings I’ve tried, a real treat.
