Quite a refreshing and inspiring red from the Canary Islands (Teneriffa). The wine needs a little time to blow off some initial funk and slight brett. The bouquet comes with red cassis, some white pepper and meaty notes (bacon, iron). On the palate it’s not fat, but quite long and easy to enjoy. I wouldn’t keep this for more than a decade and enjoy it over the five years.

Vigorously decanted night one and then right back into the bottle to take on a trip that didn't happen. Glass night two, night three, and now this review night four. I tell ya, it's gotten better every night. Full-clustered, low oaked, and fresh. 12.5%. Evenly split between Vijariego Negro, Listan Negro, and Castellana Negra. Warmly effusive and complex bouquet--saline, floral, and pastel berry--and good tension in the more autere, stellated flavors that surface a light, plush texture. Really lovely when given enough time (days) to air out.

Unfortunately this second bottle of three purchased in 2019 was at this point dominated by barnyard that didn't go away with airing.

Fruitier than anticipated. Borderline refreshing. Smoke or wood on the finish.

Reduced (in the burnt tire sense) like so many from this producer. Herbs and some roots on a reduced (in the sauce sense) blackberry compote base.
