Classic Cape Mentelle nose. Complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, tobacco, smoked meats and herbs. This took an hour for the aromatics to fully release. Palate is rich and full with a good dose of freshness, the balance between power and rounded edges complete the mouthfeel. Tannins are still firm at this stage, necessary for further development of the wine. Smooth transition to a deep and lingering finish. Drink with some decanting now. A Cabernet that will provide 10-15 years of drinking pleasure.
Retasted in July 2023. No change in nose, taste and texture. Should continue to let this breathe in a decanter before appreciating it now. Will be ready in 2-3 years. No change in score.

Admit my reviews are getting harsher but wine is getting more generic. I lovely cab that is well made but forgettable for a wine enthusiast

There's a high bar for the price of the wine, and it doesn't meet it. There are some off flavors on day two, at least in my opinion.
