Community Tasting Notes (3) Median Score: 93 points

  • Thirty minute double decant. Deep dark hazy ruby magenta color. Boysenberry, parsley, white chocolate, and perhaps subtle eucalyptus. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This has not gotten any better since my last bottle. It’s solid for its price point, but has a more herbal character than I like.

  • Two hour decant (needs 3-4). Very deep ruby magenta color. Black cherry compote, cinnamon graham cracker, charred red plum, and subtle fennel on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with nice pixelated acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This is a nice smaller production Coombsville Cab. It’s a bit more red fruited than I like. It kept improving over an hour of drinking, which speaks to the quality.

  • Coravined. Deep dark ruby color. Dark raspberry, underripe blackberry, white chocolate dreamsicle, and nutmeg on the nose. Very smooth, dry, full bodied palate, with nice acidity. Very firm, full tannins on the surprisingly long finish.

There’s a touch of potential built into my score. This really needs a two hour decant, but it was quite accessible with little air. Small production and all Coombsville fruit. Tasted at Mia Carta in Napa.
