A beautiful bend that has great body, mouthfeel, wonderful flavor palate and nice finish. Really successful without needing much decanting as a sipper or with spiced pork tenderloin. Another superb Carter wine despite the vintage challenges!

This was terrific with a minimal amount of air. Lots of ripe dark cherry and juicy plum fruit, showing noticeably less dark and brooding than some vintages have been. My wife and I loved it. It’s ready now, but no hurry on these. I hope Mike Smith’s upcoming Myriad Merlot is crafted along these lines.

Napa 2021 Trip; 5/10/2021-5/13/2021 (Napa Valley, CA): Nice wine to kick off the Carter lineup. Since the 2018 was sold out, I didn't mind tasting the 2017 which showed well with some additional bottle age. Nice red fruited, mostly merlot blend. I didn't taste this one 2 years ago in my last tasting with Carter, so nice to try despite not picking up any. Would drink in the next 3-4 years.

As usual, this wine is banging. Big, beautiful merlot. Gave it maybe an hour to open up under cork. it disappeared pretty quick.
