A fantastic red blend from the Douro wine region in Portugal which includes 30% Tinto Cão, 30 % Touriga Nacional, 25 % Touriga Franca and 15 % Tinta Roriz. Deep purple colour in the glass. Aromas and flavours of dark cherries. Paired well with roasted lamb. 14% alcohol. Nice classy label.

PnP. Deep purple. Old world big fruit (which I much prefer to new world big fruit!). Dark fruits, spices and leather. Wood/oak. For $29 CAD, this is very good QPR. We drank it with steak and Portuguese croquettes (meat croquettes, shrimp croquettes and salted cod croquettes). My wife is Portuguese and so I am very used to drinking Portuguese wines. I like this style very much (or have come to like it). Our friends, however, don't seem to care much for this style of wine so I am wondering if it is an acquired taste. I generally agree with our friends' taste preferences except when it comes to Portuguese wines! Nice wine, I would definitely buy it again, especially at this price point. Worst case, we drink it as an everyday wine.

Deep purple-red. I think NERAS’ note captures this wine perfectly: “Bombastic and rustic” Lovely to drink, and paired perfectly with our Shepherd’s Pie.
