Light/Medium bodied. The Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy Grand Cru glass brings out its fragrant nose. Savoury spectrum of fruit, dark berries, dried herbs and a gentle touch of french oak. A touch of grippy tannin on the finish. Enough complexity to the wine to give it some good interest but lacking a 'vibrancy' I was expecting. Drink now and over the next 5 years. Note its 100% Yarra Valley Fruit.

Taylors cellar door tour tasting (26 Waterloo Street, Surry Hills, Sydney): Strawberry jam with a dollop of cherry compote. With time and agitation a little earthy, slightly burnt coffee notes shows on the nose as well. In the mouth that sweet fruit is initially present then slightly bitter, medicinal notes arrive accompanying the silky tannins and a little alcohol warmth. All carry medium plus carried by those alcoholic shoulders. Clean, well made and half an hour in the fridge should help tone down the intrusive warmth.
