  (7/31/20) This was my first experience with a wine made with tannat. This was made from 80% tannat and 20% cab franc. It was ruby in appearance and had a spicy and expressive nose full of red fruit and pyrazines. It was light bodied and balanced with lively acidity and a very long finish. Of course it was highly tannic, but the tannins were ripe. To me, this wine seemed a lot like a Chinon with heavy tannins; 14.5% abv. (***/15/89)
