  • One hour Slo-O. This is drinking quite well, got even better with more air as we were consuming. Nose showed nice dark fruit with floral notes (mostly violets) and some notes of tar. Palate was very nice with cassis, plum and blackberry, pencil shavings, baking spice and toasty oak and hints of cocoa. Tannins were smooth and still shows enough acidity to keep the fruit lively. Definitely on the fruit side of the spectrum, and did improve with air. If you are waiting for more tertiary goodness, wait another few years, or perhaps a very long decant (6+ hours, maybe). Very enjoyable now for purity of fruit, but not over the top and some tertiary flavors peeking through. I would recommend a two hour decant to allow better integration and to ensure it fully opens up. Delicious now, likely a little beer in a couple years. 93 points now, and may pick an additional point or two with a little more time. I would not hesitate opening one, but I also would be in no hurry.

  • It's a third wine so I won't complain too much, but I think there's too much heat here that is making it difficult to appreciate anything else.

  • Decanted an hour plus, consumed over the following three and served at 57 degrees. Dark purple in the glass. Dark fruits, toasted bread, rose pedals and cassis on the nose. Black fruits, baking spices, mocha and cedar flavors delivered on a nicely balanced, refined and elegant structure. Some complexity with graphite and glycerin elements present. Smooth, lingering finish. Has the backbone to develop further in a proper cellar. Well done!

  • 3 bottles. All consistently good. The best showing yet. The wine is fuller body than I remember from my previous experiences. Enjoyed with dry aged steaks at Royal 35.
