Second and final bottle. Consistent with notes on 6/25/20.
Ruby, slight rim variation is consistent with age. Medium legs. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, vanilla and faint mint. On the palate, the softness of the Merlot is loud and clear: blueberry, all else secondary. Medium body, round/smooth texture. Medium minus acidity. Short finish: stops abruptly at about 1/3 of tongue. Impression: interesting effort, very soft. At just over $4, however, QPR is above average. Just a simple, soft wine. Better with food. Drink now.
Again, clearly noted the abrupt short finish of the wine. Very pronounced. Other options include a Carmenere, Cab Sauv, and Chard-Viognier. We prefer the Carmenere.

Served at room temp with Spaghetti & Meatballs. 70% Merlot & 30% Malbec (13.0% abv), Deep clear red in the glass. Nose of Cherries and Blackberries that carried over to the palate. Wine is medium-bodied, good with heavier/spicier entrees or just by itself. Medium finish. A 'go-to' inexpensive wine for everyday use.
Opened following a bottle of 2017 Thieuly Bordeaux - compared well with the Thieuly.

Served at room temp. Ruby Red in the glass, Red Berry, and Blackberry on the nose with a fruity palate. 70% Merlot & 30% Malbec (13.0% abv), wine is full-bodied, good with heavier/spicier entrees or just by itself. This is one of my inexpensive 'go-to' wines for casual everyday use. Good value @ Trader Joes.

$4 at Trader Joe's. Medium purple, blackberry-plum-vanilla fruit bomb. Will not buy again.
