A delightful blend of Shiraz/Grenache. This had a juicy core with a broad mid-palate and a layered, lingering finish. Dark red fruits, cassis, dried flowers and just a hint of dust. Approx $59, I can think of some more rewarding examples in this price category. The nose seemed a bit restrained - at times it seemed it wanted to jump out and begin to sing, but it never did. Spectator said 90, I think I'd have to agree based on the blend's balance and above-average depth. Drink thru 2013

This vintage is made mostly of Shiraz, with a little Grenache improving the complexity. Having spent 20 months in oak this wine is deep ruby red in colour. The nose shows oak and cigar box characters as well as ripe plumy fruits. The palate is full bodied, rich and mouth filling with plenty of fruit, pepper and spice. Well structured tannins and acidity help the wine to end well with a long finish. Great! Just a shame it was out of stock.
Tasted at Ken Forrester vineyards, Winery Road, Stellenbosch.

Very good, would buy again. Drank with no food, just on its own. Decant for about 20 minutes and this is ready to go!!
