9th Annual Holiday Dinner and Cellar Raid (Naperville, IL): Part of wine dinner and cellar raid so did not take detailed notes. Ended the flight with another Chinon. This was very light and past it's prime but still a good representation of Chinon.

Clear red colour. Very nice nose shows olives, cherries, woodsy and herbaceous notes over rocky minerals. Quite light on the palate though with clean red fruit flavours and leafy notes over minerals and plenty of acidity. Falls away on the finish though, which is rather short and tannic. Still a nice wine for $11.

Aroma of olive pits and rocks. Palate is extremely angular, just like I like a Loire Cab Franc. It's also a bit juicy (which is a bit odd) and dilute. A modicum of tannins show on the nice finish. I don't see this improving. It's a nice wine which I think is worth the $13 I paid but not a whole lot more.
