The capsule and cork have both held up well over time. In the glass, the wine displays a deep garnet color. The nose is alive with vibrant aromas of stewed fruits, eucalyptus, and vanilla. Upon tasting, the wine exhibits exceptional balance and poise. The fruit character remains present but has mellowed and integrated with notes of leather and cigar. Some tannins linger on the palate, contributing to a delightfully long and satisfying finish. A truly enjoyable experience with this well-aged Shiraz.

What a great wine, especially given it's age! Medium plus weight, fruit beginning to recede, lots of tertiary leather and mulled spices. Soft now but hugely enjoyable and still going strong. Long and complex, drink now.

Another great Wynns Michael from a lesser vintage. Struggled with picking it as Coonawarra Shiraz though, it had Coonawarra elements to it but not traditional Cabernet so threw me a little. it had a lovely creamyness and sweet dark red fruits to it and some lovely vanillan oak still. Hard to pick blind. Year was easy enough but it had me looking at a few places. Anyway and regardless ( and despite the much humor it gave mate Peter in guessing it wrong) it was really impressive and one to look out for. ready to go with extreme sweet smooth seamless fruit laden palate. under rated wine.

Nose: Started almost bordeaux like. Right bank. But eventually opened up to more blackberry, olive, meaty notes. Some floral elements on the backend.
Taste: Very integrated smooth. Tannins fully resolved. A streak of acidity running through it. Taste like an old world style but with a nudge of Aussie sunshine. Initial taste is primarily the sweet (not saccharine) fruit of blackberries. It then transits to meaty, peppery and spice notes. Finishing off with some cocoa elements. Very integrated.
If you have any, drink up now.

Similar comments to January 2016 and 2015, and still fresh and youthful. Gorgeous wine. Red, blue and black berry fruits, plum, silky soft big tannins, long clean finish, powerful but in a silk glove. October 2016
