Popped and poured. Perfect dry cork. Beautiful golden straw color. Peach, apricot, tropical fruit and smoky oak on the nose. Lemon oil, minerals and ripe fruit on the palate; gorgeous CA chardonnay. Agree with others that the acidity is on the high side, though this only enhances the appeal for me, at least when accompanied by food. Delicous now, but still has a year or two of life left.

Lemon curd, has some sizable texture and a food finish of acidity, although perhaps the acidity is a bit too high for me. A note of fennel here as well.

Last night, a revelation. Still steely, but the wine seems to have come out of its shell as compraed to my last note from 2 years ago - the fruit (light white tropical fruit, orange fruit, flowers), has emerged and the nose has fleshed out. The length is extended. A nice showing for a 6 year old wine.

I've never managed to find this wine to be that enticing. This bottle (my second to last) wasn't an exception. It's got some minerally, talc-y, orange-y notes that are relatively pleasant, but I still find that the bracing adicity clips both the taste and the finish.
I've got one bottle left, and that we should taste it in 2009. I'm not kidding.

Notes of orange oil, lemon oil, and sea shells. Good acidity and persistent through the finish.
