Immaculate looking bottle and cork. Developed golden color, but no oxidation. Nose of fresh pair, hay, botrytis. Medium weight, still some concentration and grip, honeyed earth, hint of RS giving roundness. Could maybe use some more acid. The slight RS makes it remind me of Alsatian wines more than other white burgundy. Has held up wonderfully for a 28-year-old Mâcon.

I've often been a big Bongran fan, and this 1995 doesn't disappoint at 20+ yo. Lots of baked apple, dried apricot and dried flowers. Intense concentration and richness, then plenty of mineral and acidity middle forward. Almost nobody would think this Burgundy/ Chardonnay if served blind, so this gets by on its richness and charm, not classic styling. Drinking great now, with no fear of fading.

Very similar to the previous bottle. Great nose, complex, some botrytis notes with a lot of honey as well. Again some RS but this is never cloying or heavy. Hard to tell this is 14% as the balance is perfect. Getting more mineral with air. Reminded me of volcanic soil, go figure why. Long, very long, precised finish on nutty notes. Showed no sign of weakness after being open 4 days. Impressive.
