Retail $25 (500ml). 100% Chenin Blanc. So it has been a scant few months since I have popped a bottle of this wine (since I *always* forget to consult CT before pulling a bottle), but boy has a ton changed in my appreciation for this wine. Whoa. In the glass? This goes beyond amber, even beyond "dark". While certainly not "stout" this has to be darker than 95%+ of the beers in the world. And the nose. Nutty, fruity (dried apricot), spicy (cardamom, cinnamon, clove), this is fatastic to simply smell for a fortnight. The palate is tart, even *really* tart, with that dried apricot aspect just going bonkers. Whoa. I know I just had a bottle of this a few months ago, but this wine is head, shoulders, kneecaps, and feet above that one. Holy cow. Extraordinary. 97 Points.
Retail $25 (500ml). 100% Chenin Blanc. It has been a minute since I have popped one of these bottles (2016) and even longer (2009) since I have written a note on it. That ends tonight. Dark, really dark in the glass. Even beyond "amber" and close to "chestnut". That gets a "whoa" just on the color. Nutty and caramelized on the nose, the palate is tart, sweet (but far from unctuous), with both the nutty and caramel aspects. I don't drink much dessert wine these days, but this is close to gangbusters.
Probably somewhat early to bring thus up from the cellar already now. Well balanced and surprisingly fresh. Will keep my second bottle for quite some time.

Doing very well. Lots of acidity still that balances the sweetness. Not as sweet as some, but very good.
