1/17/2022 disgorgement. Opened around 2 hours prior to serving. Poured alongside a Krug 167eme. Comparatively, this showed much more richness than the Krug -- quite a generous wine. Lemon and cream, puff pastry, toasted nuts. Lovely, but I think this will improve a few more years in bottle.

A coiled ball of energy, with dense fruit, bright acidity, and muscular structure. I thought this superb–with pure fruit and emerging complexity–though it will take a while to hit peak. My first time with this wine.

One of 2 bottles opened by Dan at the dinner (Dan thought this was the better of the 2 bottles). 67% Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger and 33% Pinot Noir from Aÿ. All from the first pressing. January 2022 disgorgement. Less than 1g/ltr dosage. A concentrated Champagne. Medium yellow color. Clean profile with lemon zest, almond and grapefruit notes. Richly textured. A slight metallic note on the finish. 94 points.

CWM Holiday Dinner - 2008 Champagnes (Pa Lian Burmese, Wheaton): Deeper color than many of the others to this point, showing pear, red apple and peach notes. Underlying doughy quality. Quite creamy in texture with perfectly ripe orchard fruit flavors. becomes more nuanced as it sits, adding vanilla crème and dried stone fruit qualities. This was Domino's wotn. Very generous contributions to the evening's festivities. (DTRF)

Somewhat unique in style, yoghurt, creamy, more dairy than fruit-driven. Delicious, too. 93
