The 2017 Inglenook Cabernet is a very not so typical Cali Cab. I popped and I poured, and I sipped a very nice wine. It is not a fruit bomb, nor is it a tannin bomb either. It is medium bodied, and has just the right amount of everything. Cellaring another two years may improve this wine, but it is excellent right now. Is it worth $55 a bottle? Definitely.

2 hour decant; a lighter style of Cabernet, showing less richness and fruit and more acidity. Cherries, black tea, cigar box, a hint of green stemminess. Tannins still kicking pretty hard as well. Will leave my last bottle alone for another couple of years. Drink 2024-2032+.

A matter of taste 2023 - Day 2: *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory *** Glass: Stölzle Universal Suprisingly elegant and balanced compared to the Stag's leap wines. Fresh, elegant, fine tannin, medium+ acidity, good length. Love this style. 91+

On the nose, nice fruit profile with some earthiness and some green. alc at 14% but was burning through on the first few sniffs. On the palate, relatively balance, high acidity, light, alc is much more resolved, tannin is fine. Enjoyable wine. Not your typical Napa cab.

Dry with very little to no berries or tannins. A good selection if you’re looking for a mild mannered Napa that isn’t jammy or berry forward.
