The first thing you notice when pouring, is the effect of the oak aging, a healthy hint of brown. On the nose, oak earthyness punches through, then you find plum and darker fruits. In the mouth, I’m afraid the tannins are quite harsh, hiding the fruit and length.
Update, last glass, a couple of hours after opening- starting to burn off the tannins, fruit is now developing. May need another bottle and give it a few hours air-time.
