Deep red colour with an almost black core and beautiful purple reflections at the rim of the glass. Dark and very intense nose of blueberries, boysenberries, black currant, dried meet and Creme de Casis. Add to that floral notes with savory hints of black pepper, black tea and paprika. A very intriguing taste with spicy notes and soft tannins and good acidity. Almost tastes like an aged Côte Rôtie - wow! Maybe a little too much alcohol but it’s still a very elegant rendition of the Pinot grape…

Dark red/purple, flash of pink. Lovely aroma of raspberry, grapefruit, candied rose petals. Then great, deep flavour of plum, cassis, blackberry, gingerbread. Light and frangrant, but plush. The next day a final glass had an elegant flavour of mulberry and toast - suggesting it will age well. Excellent.

This is such a treat. Deep ruby colour with blueberry and black tea on the nose. Initial flavours are intense with blackcurrant and clove, then long finish with raspberry, lemon oil and a savoury edge. This is smooth and rich, and manages to be substantial without overbearing.

Freshly crushed and juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit with a touch of jam added for good measure, given further lift and interest by a streak of lemon tea and spice. It’s fleshy, soft, silky and sensuous and the finish is superb. Top drawer stuff. 93 points

Quite intense for Otago Pinot. Flavours of red fruit, raspberry, strawberry jam. Good intensity and ok balance.
