Floral hints with slightly more spice, all in front of fairly big red and black berries on both nose and palate. Structure has nicely softened, so this is one of the more rare 2005 1ers that seem easily accessible, but there is still a sense of backwardness that makes me confident of further upside. I have one more bottle that I will hold until 2030 or later.

Sublime. Superb layers of red fruits, a lovely winter wine. Paired with a breast of pigeon with pommes dauphinoise. Brilliantly structured wine with another 15-20 years left. His Meursault is superb but this was fabulous burgundy.

There is great potential here in the sappy, pure red Pinot fruit. Quit elegant in palate. Like many 2005s there is still all structure and therefore rather reserved and undeveloped. But over 2 hrs open it began show another dimension with more earth notes. For best result hold off other bottles for at least 4-5 years. Suspect this will be truly terrific in time.

This was gorgeous with violets, cherries, strawberries in a delicate long finish.
