Boys' Vosne Romanee Long Lunch (Artyzen Club, Shun Tak Centre, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong): Translucent ruby colour. Nose is shy and asleep. Palate is very peppery.....almost Shiraz-like. Quite rich black and red fruit. Touch of alcoholic heat. Heady and alcoholic finish. We didn't decant this and that could have made a considerable difference. Either way, it probably needs at least 5 more years to open up.

As expected this is showing the darker Vosne-Romanée side with notes of darker spices, dark cherries, plums, violets, tobacco, also some funky notes (horsesaddle, barnyard), smoke, black tea and some menthol. It's medium-full bodied and dense with medium+ acidity and medium tannin Very good length and a nice combination of power and freshness. It's drinking really well already with a little bit of air.

Medium ruby. Expressive nose of mainly dark fruit, plum, dark cherries, very VSR from the dark elements and also a touch violets. Fresh and creamy on the palate, also quite ripe which comes at the cost of the bright fruit. Nice and polished but I wish for a tad more energy for a score in the mid 90ies. Drinks well now with 1h of decanting. 93+

More savory than sweet fruit on the palate. Great nose
