Clear light straw color with an initial smell of pleasant solera system sherry type of maderization, followed by a clean and bright lemon custard and Alsatian petroleum in the nose. The medium weight viscous and velvety mouthfeel is supported by an appropriate sparkling and balanced acidity that enables the primary smooth lemon cream flavor to linger on the palate. This is a sophisticated wine that will exponentially increase the enjoyment of any type of meal. I cannot think of a California correlation to this wine except for perhaps Calera’s top offerings.
