“100% Cabernet Franc; 15.1% ABV, 0.74 g/100ml TA, & 3.37 pH; Oak Regime: 32% AM Oak 55% FR Oak 13% Neutral Oak; 677 cases produced & released 11/1/19 @ $26 sugg retail.”
PnP, though it probably had ≈15 min uncorked before I got to it; Private Preserve after Day 1
N: Bright cherries with notes of tomato leaf, pyrazines, & undertones of dill
P: Med, poss LM, body; Nice frt met by an astringent pucker which evolves into a LONG, TANGY/swt (75:25) finish with a very, VERY slight bitterness to the firming, but reasonably unoffensive, very, VERY fine tannins. Needed > air prior to tasting, IMHO. :( My VG+, though I suspect higher IF decanted/given > air &/or an addt'l 6-12 mos of cellaring. // Day 2: Noting smoke/toast (which I didn't Day 1) somewhat atop cherries. On the P the frt is > apparent on entry, then goes through the mid-P structure, but shows up again with the ult sensation being one of refined swtness. Upgrading to my EXC-, needs/DESERVES decanting IF drinking prior to mid '21, then holding into '24. Contest results so far:: ’19: Silver @ Dan Berger Int’l; ’20: Platinum @ Monterey Int’l; Double Gold @ S.F. Chronicle; Golds @ Toast of the Coast & S.D. Int’l Wine Challenge; Silvers @ Winemaker’s Challenge, New World Int’l, & West Coast Wine Comp; and Bronze @TEXSOM Int’l! [Still showing available from the winery @ $26.]

Way too heavy handed with the sweet wood vinification.

Underwhelmed this time - possibly bad bottle? Better the next day.
