Juicy red fruit, olive, some salinity, good acidity. A little tea and sage. Somewhat tannic without being too sticky. Even better on night 2. A fantastic wine.

Perhaps our expectations were too elevated: this was a fine bottle of pinot noir, evocative of a walk through the forest, but still needing time, and with a clipped finish. But we were expecting something more magical (especially at $110 per bottle) and so were somewhat disappointed. We'll leave our other bottles for a couple of years, at least, and we'll recalibrate our expectations.

IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. Lonny's bottle at The Stephanie Inn. This has a wonderful nose that doesn't need much time to evolve. Lovely dried leaves on the nose, dried herbs, spiced red raspberry, mulberry, silky, medium bodied, and giving way to damp forest floor. 92+ to 93pts.

This is very good in a big pinot way; very ripe red fruits, some oak spice and a hint of vanilla, touch of floral; great ripe fruit on the palate with a rich feel yet plenty of freshness to balance; long finish. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would; it drinks well now with the fruit, but will cruise for a decade easily.

A big Pinot Noir indeed. Smelled like Bordeaux. Tasted like Super Tuscan. Reminded me of Sine Qua Non style.
