Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • A late cellar release, from Ficofi I understand, and also evidenced by the fact it has security tags and NFC chips (fairly confident those didn’t exist in the 80s!). Very light in the glass and a tawny brown, bordering on orange. To look at, this could even be aged Nebbiolo, albeit the palate was clearly Pinot noir. Exceptionally light on the palate, the tannins have completely melted, and you are left with an almost ‘tea-like’ sensation. Super delicate and super elegant. You could sense this was a lighter and ‘weaker’ year - but the quality of the maker has made it last this far. Definitely one to drink now though at a ripe old age of 39. A wonderful wine, of serious rarity, to drink without food or light fish.

A (very) kind sharing from BV and SK
