third bertheau charmes of the night. the '10 and '14 were more interesting. nice red fruit here but overall seemed to lack the acidity of the others. probably drinking too young. hold.

I’m no burgundy expert , but this is definitely more ripe and bigger , more oak than most burgundies I’ve tried. For Bertheau certainly this is darker and riper vintage vs 17 and 19.

Third of three bottles drunk over a year. I generally like Bertheau very much, but this is a big miss. Very ripe, confected, Syrah-like, with sweet black fruit, some bitter tannin and a pinch of olive-y whole cluster. Reminds me a little of a Jonata syrah. When I pour it for my wife, blind, her first reaction, even without knowing the grape, is to go "ooooh, too ripe!". It IS too ripe. It's lost varietal character, and it sure as heck doesn't taste like Burgundy. One of my most disappointing purchases from the 2018 vintage, especially since the 2015-2017 were so nice.

Plum and ripe fruit - lots of it. Will see if this improves with maturity - not sure...
