  • Still young. Nose with cooking spices and vanilla cake batter, but flavors are still green. I'd like to try this again in a few years.

  • Decanted and started drinking immediately. Striking color, looks good in the glass. Quite aromatic, along the lines of moist earth, plum, clove, and a hint of VA. Similar on the palate - earth, tart cherries and plums, clove/allspice, a good amount of acidity, and some fairly grippy tannins. Gravelly earth and tart fruit skin in a slightly short but quite pleasant finish. A bit unruly in its youth, but already quite tasty. Air does it good - with 2 hours it gets smoother, richer, and more cohesive, while staying nicely tart and taut. At 3 hours, it's even more expressive and aromatic. Delicious and characterful wine, and a great value (in keeping with an apparent tradition of the mondeuse grape).

  • Aromas of primarily red with some dark fruit with some floral and spice elements, along with notes of herbs and minerality. Closer to medium bodied; crisp with good juicy acidity with high toned red fruits on the palate. I really respect what Peillot is doing in the Savoie and just can't say enough to support his wines.
