Very nice right out of the bottle. Garnet hue. Red berries, tobacco, some spice (cinnamon, fennel, paprika?) but nothing overpowering. Feminine, medium sweet vs dry. Nice oak. Balanced. Light tannin, smooth finish, low acidity. Paired with a nice stinky cheese then coq au vin.

Lunch with Edouard Labeye with some smart bottles served blind (Radford Dale Organic): (Tasted Blind): The aromas are brimful of red plum, bing cherry and some darker fruits. Expressive the wine has a potpourri and mineral quality. Light to medium-bodied, the wine displays ripe fruits a fleshy texture with a lively acidity, giving an elegance interpretation. A long, lingering length with gently mineral tannin. Nicely structured frame, this has a fabulous fragrant freshness running throughout.

Medium/heavy CO2 to shake out. Nice fruit - very fresh, vibrant, magenta-toned, no hot-vintage markers. A little bit of cedary oak. But that's about it. Where's the personality?
