Had this over two days and it was certainly better and more integrated on night two. The 2018s will require time and patience, but there's so much to like about the pure, rich, unadulterated fruit. Plenty of freshness and structure to match the fruit. Night one was barrel sample primary. Night two had more spice and stem-spice. Lots of upside from here.

A good village level wine. Transparent and fruity but needs some air to open up. Was quite closed and rejecting right when opened. After 2 hours on decanter it started showing cherries, raspberries and the chalk earthy expression which is often found in Chambolle.
Consider waiting a few years before opening.

The wine came off as quite young with some brawn and good amount of tannins. Currently it is not the soft red lacy floral character you expect for typical village chambolle. Totally enjoyable and drinkable today but I have a feeling with a good 10 years or so will transform into something much more beautiful.
