We visited Failla almost 10 years ago. We weren't fans of a lot of their reds, but honestly I'm not so sure we tried many Chards. This Ft Ross Seaview chard is good with food but jury is still out as to how this is "a la carte". A little effervescent quality about it, the nose that is lots of crushed rock, limestone, lime, mint. Almost smells similar to a mojito actually. The entry is rounder than I would have expected. Yellow chalky fruit, lemongrass and lime. Middle is dense but fruit gives way to acidity and a limestone finish which is actually pretty light to medium bodied. Better with steelhead trout than a la carte for sure. Drink now, as I'm not thinking this will appreciate with more bottle age. Compared to others in the lot, it was on the higher end price-wise and sort of under delivered.

Same as prior note. Mediocre wine.

Flat on the front end, good acidity, lacks any compexity and depth.

A near village Chablis ringer for me. Lime peel, oyster shell, buddhas hand rind, crisp and fresh, bright wine with upside.

Solid, but didn't wow me the way Failla has in the past.
