  • Big and bold and round. Lots of flower on the nose and on the palate. Inky blue-red with an edge of brick; some sediment at the last portion of the bottle. Underlying flavors of mixed fruits. Drinking nicely at this point. Had with a red sauce pasta with shiitaki mushrooms and Italian sausage and it held its own with the food as well as tasted great on its own!

  • Gently modernist, with deep, ripe and sweet red plums in the foreground and blackberries in the background. Again gentle is the word to describe the palate, which features a nice but arguably oaky inner mouth perfume. Quality stuff, but not showing much more than a fruity character right now. Grows in sweetness with air, to the point where it's a bit too much for food.
