Slow ox'd a couple of hours. Maroon core with a ruby rim. Pleasant aromatics showing savory cured meat and ethereal red fruit. The palate is a bit subdued compared to the nose. Muted bing cherry accentuated with some mango and honeycrisp apple. Allspice and cured meat swirl about the mélange. The finish is medium at best.
Great aromatics, and decent complexity here. This is past peak, and great wines from the northern Rhone make it well past their tenth birthday. This keeps it under 90.

pop & pour nose: mostly tar, some nutmeats, bit of alcohol palate: sharply spicy the fruit dies fast leaving the finish to sustain on light tannin and medium acidity. huh. I'll give it some time to see what evolves. Very rustic in presentation. 82-83 initially. Second night it had become a bit more cohesive, but never surpassed 'drinkable'. Good with food, though.

more olive, and more concentrated black/blue fruit compared to the previous bottle. acidity is stronger and offers more structure. better all around.
