  • I like this a good deal more today than last year. Just perfect structure with strong yet gentle tannin and backbone to spare. Perfumed nose showing dried cherry and herbal tea. Generous, silky fruit on the palate. Hints of pepper and rocks. Maybe a tick better on night two. Just terrific. This house gets it. This will certainly live a while though its just about right now.

  • I very much liked this (but I tend to have a soft spot for Aglianico). Excellent structure, provided above all my medium-high (if not downright high) acidity and medium tannins. Fruit is rather subdued, mostly in the form of brambly notes. Volcanic soil/ashes come through very clearly. Very enjoyable, perhaps especially with food. This should drink well for at least 5 yrs, and maybe more. Phenomenal value (but, again, I have a weakness for Aglianico).

  • This centers on a fresh fruit profile, more so than most Taurasi's. Brambly blackberry up front. Weak in the midpalate but the structure keeps it alive. Underlying, natural acidity and medium tannin. Maybe a a light wood and nutty note if you dig in there. A nice, more basic Taurasi to enjoy while the denser wines age. This will go a while though I don't believe the fruit is here for development.

  • Deep, dark, brambly and very earthy. Dirty even.
