Wines from the Punchdown; 7/9/2020-8/8/2020 (Home): Zesty red fruit. Softly textured midpalate, tangy and lightly bitter finish in the way that I like it. Mouthfeel is loose but the wine manages to keep it all together.

You will think this is Syrah for its dense perfumed violets, dark berries, and mocha. It’s instead a beautifully silky Cab Franc which reveals itself with the tiniest bit of creeping manure. Really no off putting pyrazine to deduct from. Very intense tannins well integrated into a creamy milk chocolate raspberry bomb. Big and very big and took me four days to finish, but I enjoyed each incremental moment.
