  • Tasted blind. Pale med lemon. Clean, med aromas of ripe apple/pear, ripe lemon, white peach, white pepper, radish, a note of vanilla and pastry, which seems from lees. All stainless steel. Dry, but very fruit forward, consistent with the nose by with slight phenolic bitterness on the finish. Med (+) acidity, med alcohol (12.5%). Med body, med (+) flavor intensity and length. Drinking well now, not likely to improve with further aging. Riper than expected.

Still having a difficult time picking out GruVe blind since it is somewhat characterless. It's more of a process of elimination of what it clearly isn't. Seems overrated as a variety, considering the oodles of great Italian whites that the wine press and Somms still have not discovered.
