1/6, vg cork, decanted 1/2 hr. Medium/deep ruby/garnet core, pale rim. Nose is initially quite discreet, opens slowly to reveal mulberry and plum fruit, black tea, touch of earth and smoke. Quite complex. Medium bodied, mulberry and plums again to the fore, composed and elegant with black tea and soil notes, fine tannins - still a touch firm but better with food, fresh acids, good length/persistence. Excellent, starting to drink, no hurry.

I’m partial to this wine for it was one of the first old Bordeaux’s I ever had the pleasure of drinking and happy to pop the cork for a birthday.
Sight: Still a beautiful medium ruby color with clear deep garnet color all the way through.
Nose: My cork was perfect I had stored the wine properly I poured carefully into the decanter and was so happy to smell this wine was more than alive it was singing! I was immediately hit with notes of violet concentrated blackberries, dried raspberry and Cab spice. Over time I started getting lively Dark cherry licorice, game, Dried leafs, and notable cab franc notes. Just a great nose this wine is at its peak!
Palate: The wine is in perfect balance and the tannin structure is beautifully fine. There is plenty of fruit here following the nose the finish is medium very tasty. This wine has just great balance and is a pleasure to drink the nose follows the palate with its black and red fruits and you get a nice hit of earth and minerals in the finish.
Overall: I’m surprised people have said this wine doesn’t do well over 12-15 years this wine is perfect in my opinion rn I was worried I waited too long but now I see I waited up to the perfect moment. I would drink now because why wait it’s clearly at its peak drinkability everything is in sync enjoy this piece of Chateau history from 2006.

Bordeaux tasting at my local store: Pours dark garnet. Fruity aroma and fruity on the palate, with loads of blackberry and raspberry. Very rich, dense body. Has a nice, leafy herbal edge on the background. Finishes with soft tannins. A huge contrast after having three straight Pauillacs.

Relatively light ruby-red with barely a sign of her 10 years on the eye. Bouquet of herbs, raspberries, mature oak and an earthiness harkening us back to Mother nature. Palate is medium bodied, well-integrated oak, acidity and dark fruits with a touch of that earthiness. Subtle, velvety tannins. Barely legal, but sipping nicely at the moment. We have high expectations over the next 5+ years.

VinoLaprisco Tasting (Restaurant De Karpendonkse Hoeve *, Eindhoven, Netherlands): Lovely peppery nose (40% Cabernet Franc), expressive, ripe raspberries, ginger bread, bright acidity, hint of vanilla, grippy tannins, slender style, long and lifted finish.
