Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Two bottles over a few months, sane experience. This strange wine may be flawed but we’re not sure. There’s decent fruit but also some sort of round smokiness with rubbery petroleum that doesn’t come off quite right. It’s not terrible so it’s hard to tell if it’s intentional.

100+ year old Listán Negro in deep, black volcanic sands (up to 9’ deep) over clay subsoils. Hand harvested, 90% whole cluster, natural yeast fermentation in amphorae and small fermentation bins. 6 months in neutral 500L French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
