  • Last one of these was enjoyed 2.5 yr ago. This wine has developed an herbal funk to it, but realistically has contributed positively to the overall character of the wine. Watermelon, ripe raspberries, oregano and basil. A really weighted wine, finishes with white pepper spices and a ton of wintergreen heat! This wine went incredibly well with Mexican food. This wine has done quite a bit of growing up in the last year, and really pretty impressed with its overall demeanor. I don't think it has much longer, maybe 2 years at the most with proper cellaring.

  • Wonderful rose. Cherry, watermelon and berry fruit

  • The Gaston label has been that rock solid Rosé that many Texas wine fans look forward to every year. The 2019 release is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault. Strawberry and mango notes predominate in this vintage along with a splash of watermelon. The wine has a pleasant acidic finish giving it just the right amount of crispness without detracting from the lovely fruit flavors. Sadly, there will be no 2020 vintage to share. Thus, we look forward in hopeful anticipation that 2021 will bring better luck and allow this lovely Rosé to once again be bottled and shared with its wine fans everywhere. In the meantime, enjoy your 2019 stash of Gaston as long as you can. Santé!

  • Has been a little while since I brought one of these out to play. This was compared to a 2020 Grenache Rosé. This one has quite a bit of Cinsault, and seemed to have more strawberry and red licorice compared to the grenache rosé which seem to be more about the mineral driven strawberry, mango, peach. Although this one seemed to have more body, it did not seem to impress as much as it did the year before, and seems like the structure is starting to dwindle. I am very impressed with this 2019 Rosé and will probably choose to hold the other two bottles for another few years. I know I have held some of the other vintages back and it has always never disappointed.

  • These are dropping like flies. One of the top 3 Rosé for this 2020 season. Pairs well with 100 degree heat and pizza. Strawberry, watermelon and limestone grit with ame acidity.
