  • Mocha, chocolate and plum on the nose. Strong tannic backbone for a palate of dark fruit flavors. Medium bodied and spicy both forward and mid-palate. Medium length problem free finish. Paired well with lamb tips over Basmati rice and green beans.

  • Nose of plum, chocolate, coffee, and indistinguishable spices. Medium to thick bodied with a ripe dark cherry mouthfeel. Fine yet strong tannic structure doesn't overwhelm at this stage. Balanced more toward spices than fruit flavor on the palate with an earthy character. Medium length finish without any additional heat. Leaves a fair amount of sediment in the glass at the end. Two consecutive drought years intensified the local Shiraz grapes. Several Pokolbin wineries achieve such an elegant red blend, none at this price point but Thomas.
