Medium garnet color. Nose of stone and dried herbs, with a subtle aroma of tart raspberries. The palate stars out very round and smooth textured, becoming very stony with sedate red fruit and fine acidity. A slightly bitter note on the finish is the sole obvious flaw in this otherwise elegant and well-balanced wine. This is a nice expression of this DOCG, probably best enjoyed within the next year.

Okay, it was almost a shame to waste this bottle of Brunello on pizza and greek salad from Pizzacatto. But this was the best pizza and wine combo we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. So soft, supple, delicious, with great mouth feel, tobacco and wet leather on the nose. And it definitely gets better as it opens up so do so at least an hour before you want to drink it. Dang, once again, I wish we had more!

The start of a summer weekend in NYC (Maialino): Really nothing wrong with this wine - it just lacked anything distinguishing. Across the board, it was "not quite".
