  • The wine is clear, pale intensity and lemon colour. The nose is clean, medium intensity with primary aromas of lemon peel, honeysuckle and tomato leaf. Secondary aromas of biscuit and brioche, hint butter, oak with cedar and vanilla. The palate is dry, medium + acidity, medium alcohol, medium + body. Flavour intensity is medium + with all characteristics plus stone/flint. Finish is medium +. Drink now.

  • I have been disappointed by many 2018 WB's, but not by this one. Pale lemon gold and still with flecks of green. This wine treads a fine line between richness and tightness, minerals and honeycomb, rocks and lemon curd. It has the richness of the vintage, which has provided a stack of flavour, but also retains some tension to provide energy and balance. Good wine making is on show here. Now-2024

  • This arrived today the first of twelve. Why wait? Pale lemon gold with flecks of green. Nose is initially a little restrained by the low serving temperature with honeycomb, oatmeal and yellow stone fruits. Huge flavour impact! Spice and citrus, not yet swallowing the oak, and with the richness of the vintage to the fore but taut and balanced by the acidity. Concentrated, like a 2016. Suggest this will develop quickly and make an enjoyable bottle. A roast chicken wine. 2024
