Delicious, characteristic Syrah that I would never be able to identify blind as a Southern wine. I would've guessed Crozes-Hermitage or St.-Joseph. Abundant olives, herbs, leather, smoke. Holding up quite well; I thought that carbonic maceration might have resulted in a shorter-lived wine, but that doesn't appear to be the case. A wine I wish I had much more of.

Complex, tasty cotes du rhone. The only detraction is some concentration, but the dark plum and blackberry flavors mix well with leather and just a hint of syrah spice. Enough tannins to age well for several years.

(Domaine Gramenon Côtes du Rhône Sierra du Sud) Herbaceous, peppery, pepperoncini nose; similar flavors on light-medium bodied palate, tending toward olive, herbaceous, pepper; medium finish

Balancing out nicely, just now becoming drinkable. Used mostly in coq a vin, and it was spectacular!

Strange, with blueberry fruit and syrah spice, with a hollow feel to the flavors. Did not improve much in the decanter. Drink up.
